Ingredients

    40 g cornstarch
  • Cheese
    70 g Cheese
  • pepper

  • nutmeg

  • 1 kg cauliflowers
  • 4 potatoes
  • ½ L semi-skimmed milk

Instructions

Cut the cauliflower into florets and rinse. Cook in boiling salted water for 10 minutes, then drain.

Peel the potatoes, cook them in water for 15 minutes. Drain, then cut into large slices.

Thinly slice the onions. Sauté them in a dry pan until translucent and starting to brown.

Dissolve the cornstarch in a little milk. Pour the remaining milk over the onions, add the dissolved cornstarch, and, over low heat, whisk until the sauce thickens. Season with pepper and nutmeg at the end of cooking.

Arrange the cauliflower florets and potato slices in a gratin dish. Cover with light béchamel, then sprinkle with grated cheese.

Bake in a preheated oven at 240°C (thermostat 8), cook for 10 minutes, finishing with a few minutes under the grill if needed.
